Have you ever seen air? I have. Living in a big city was oppressive for a country girl who loves wide open spaces, fields, and air. Air so clear you can only feel it, or smell it’s freshness, or drink in the sun warmed goodness.
Wenzhou, China, air though, you could see. We actually prayed for lightning storms. Most times we couldn’t see the sun. Factory, car, bus, truck, spewed thick, sticky air that had a yellowish, grey color. Our lungs didn’t appreciate that air any more than our eyes did, and our four kids had persistent coughs that lingered longer than welcome. But what does that have to do with faith?
Faith has been on my mind this year, mainly because fear, by contrast, had gotten too big a hold on my heart last year. You are reading what I feared. Blogging. I have known God was nudging me to write for a long time and I’ve let fear stop me. Until today. Fear or no fear, I have decided to obey God’s call and try to bless you with the thoughts He is teaching me. Because of faith. I’m stepping out and trusting Him to hold me up. He’s ready to do the same for you, right where you are in the messy day to day.
What do you believe? Really? Your faith has power you are either squandering or harnessing. Faith can be just like clean vibrant living air, or like smoke and grime laden smog- oppressive and icky. Because we do what we believe.
